Often times, campers may need to make choices regarding different items of equipment and gear, and so you will need to weigh the pros and cons of each item on your camping checklist and make informed decisions about the usefulness of each. You may need to choose between takings along a tent or opt instead to stay in a shelter. Shelters will let in the cold and so a tent may be more suitable as it offers more protection from the weather, and use of tarp is especially recommended to keep out rain. You should also include in your camping checklist use of ground cloth such as tarps or plastic that can keep the moisture from affecting you while you sleep on the ground. Another most essential item you must tick off on your camping checklist is the sleeping bag. Be sure to choose one that is properly rated for weather conditions that you are going to encounter on your camping trip. Obviously, it won’t make any sense to take a sleeping bag meant for extremely cold weather when taking a summer camping trip and vice versa.
Children love being outdoors and active whether it be the playground, the backyard, school, hiking, or camping children love to be involved. Kids camping gear can make the child feel more invested in the experience. Kids camping gear is often the exact same as adult camping gear in slight miniature. Some examples of kids camping gear includes kids’ packs, kids’ sleeping bags, the well known pup-tent, and child sized clothing, outerwear, and boots. Basic camping gear should always include insect repellant, a first aid kit, iodine tablets (for water in case of an emergency), sun screen, and some form of emergency communication device such as a two way radio or a cellular phone. A kid’s camping gear pack could include a first aid kit and extra water, to teach them how to be prepared for anything.
